Unless you live under a rock, you probably know that Michael Jackson is dead - may he rest in peace. Its saddening to hear that, but I don't agree with how (most) radio stations are handling it.
First, it is great to see that a great entertainer, one that probably single handedly changed the music industry being honored. But just about every station on the dial was eager to alter their usual programming to make way for "back to back Michael this morning", "Its a Michael Jackson tribute Friday", "All request Michael Jackson day" etc.
BUT FOR CRIPES SAKE - IF HE WAS SUCH A GREAT ENTERTAINER WORTHY OF AN ALL DAY SHOW - WHY DO YOU WAIT TILL HE IS DEAD TO PLAY HIS MATERIAL ???
How about you add a Michael Jackson song here and there on your daily rotation ? It sure would be a welcome change from hearing Boom Boom Pow for the 47th time this hour. I havent heard a MJ song on the radio in months (at least). Makes me wonder if they are actually paying tribute or just playing the ratings game.
Appreciate what is good and important to you NOW. Not when it is gone forever...
